Due to multiple issues with trespassing and misuse of the basketball courts, Colony Park Rec explored solutions, including some that may be put into place at a later date. One solution that was explored and recommended by the Fairfax County Crime Prevention Unit was the installation of a coded lock. On June 30, a vendor was onsite to install the lock, as well as a weighted gate/door closure.
Any homeowner wishing to use the courts will need to contact Cardinal Management Group to receive the code to the gate. Owners may contact either Community Manager Ashley Gonzalez at a.gonzalez@cardinalmanagementgroup.com or Management Assistant Lauren Whitney at l.whitney@cardinalmanagementgroup.com. You will need to provide your name and address in order to be provided the code. If you are renting a home, you will need to work with your landlord in order to obtain the code.
