Winter Weather Reminder: Do Not Put Salt on the Recently Repaired Common Area Concrete

With the winter season upon us, please be aware that management has advised the board that in the event of snow or ice, residents should avoid putting salt on the common area sidewalks that were repaired this fall. Salt will damage the new concrete, and its use would mean that these areas of sidewalk are no longer covered under warranty. If your home borders one of these recently repaired areas, you are asked to use sand or cat litter instead of salt.

As always, residents are reminded that Spruce Up, our landscaper, will plow the community in the event of snowfall greater than 3 inches (corrected from an earlier post, in which we had stated that the threshold was 2 inches). As outlined in the Community Association Handbook (pg. 11), residents are asked to take responsibility for shoveling out their own cars and walkways, as well as the sidewalks bordering their homes, as these services will not be provided by Spruce Up. It is required that the sidewalks bordering your property be cleared.

For general tips and safety information, see Fairfax County’s Winter Weather Guide, and feel free to contact the board at woodlynnedir@gmail.com with any questions pertaining to our community. Thanks for your cooperation!
