The street lights in the community are old and many are attached to homes for there power. When outages occur, the area is dark and unsafe. The board is concerned about this and began researching options in 2014. In December some lights that had been out frequently were determined to have breaks in the underground wiring due to age and tree root damage. The electrical contractor for the community repaired the breaks and rewired the lamps so that they no longer run to a residence. This is the beginning of a process to address the lighting problems within the community.
Replanting trees that began in the late fall was delayed in that area until the lamp repair was completed. Two trees will be planted next week, weather permitting, in the area of the wire repair.
